Oracle Technology Network serves as a repository which
allows developers, architects and DBAs to download complete
documentation regarding installation of various Oracle
Products, download the product software for installation and
use it for testing and learning purposes. Oracle Technology
Network (OTN) allows registered users in enhancing their
skills and also to build, deploy, manage, optimize
application to test their solutions.
In
our industry, it is very important to upgrade our skills,
get knowledge of new Oracle technologies, connect with
Oracle experts through Oracle Community, implement and
design competitive, reliable and efficient solutions. The
same credentials that were used or created for My Oracle
Support can be used to login to Oracle Technology Network
(OTN). The web URL to access OTN is as below:

Click on the Sign In/Register link and enter your login
credentials, once done the user home page is seen as below
(refer Figure 2.8).

The User home page shows various tabs such as below:

Products
– Shows the links of various Oracle Products when clicking
on those would open videos, roles and solutions available
for those Oracle products.

Solutions
–
Shows the documentation of different solutions that are
being provided for each of the Oracle Products
·
Downloads
–Allows you to download the software for each Oracle
Product. We will cover how to download the software from OTN
in the next topic.
·
Store –
Allows you to shop for Oracle products as well as
licenses
·
Support –
Allows you to go to My Oracle Support, Check for Oracle
Premier Support information, Oracle Support Best Practices
etc.
·
Training –
Allows you to check Oracle certification Programs as well as
Training schedules.
·
About –
Shows most details about Oracle such as Company Information,
News and Events, Customers and Partners, Communications and
Careers.
Downloads from OTN
For downloading the Oracle Product software, click on the
Downloads Tab,
all products will be shown as a menu (refer Figure 2.9)

Let’s take an example of downloading the Oracle 12c
database.
Click on Downloads
à
Database
à
Oracle Database.
The following page will be seen (refer Figure 2.10).

You need to check
Accept License Agreement, then start downloading the
required database installation files as per the platform you
wish to download.
Similarly, you need to do the same for other Oracle products
that are listed for being available for download as per
Oracle Technology Network.
For downloads such as Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Linux
or if we intend to use VM (Virtual Machine) templates for
installation we can directly go to the
Oracle Software
Delivery Cloud and download the same. OTN also directs
us to Oracle
Software Delivery Cloud to download any Oracle
Applications related products or even Oracle Linux
