Question: What
causes this ORA-02256 error on a "alter table add
constraint" for a foreign key:

Answer: The oerr utility shows
this for the ORA-02256 error:
ORA-02256: number of
referencing columns must match referenced columns
Cause: The number of columns in the
foreign-key referencing list is not equal to the number of
columns in the referenced list.
Action:
Make sure that the referencing columns match the referenced
columns.
This error can also occur when attempt to add a foreign
key to a table but you have listed different columns in your
foreign key that do not match your primary key.
