Question: I have not set the
log_directory_xxx parameter and I wanted t know the default
location for the listener log file. Where does Oracle
write the listener log file?
Answer: You can see the listener
log file location by issuing the lsnrctl status command:
$ lsnrctl stat
LSNRCTL for Linux:
Version . . .
. . .
Listener Log File
/home/app/oracle/product/10.2/network/log/listener.log
Traditionally, the
listener log OFA location has been in the directory named
$ORACLE_HOME/network/log/listener. log,
and in 11g and beyond, the default location for the listener
log file is the "diag" directory, $ORACLE_HOME/diag.
You set your log destination with this log_directory_(listener_name)
parameter:
LOG_DIRECTORY_($Listener_name) =
$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/log
e.g.
LOG_DIRECTORY_PRODLIST = $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/log
