GoldenGate Supported Platforms
Oracle GoldenGate heterogeneity aims to support major
database management systems. Depending on the database type,
support for capture and apply is determined, and whether the
change data capture is log-based. Table 1.1 lists the
current supported database platforms by Oracle GoldenGate
11g and higher.

Oracle GoldenGate supported databases
The vast majority of database capture method are log-based,
and translated to low-impact, high-performance on the source
database system. The log-based capture technology is a key
differentiator of Oracle GoldenGate.
By comparison, other extraction tools adapt queuing
technology, that highly impact the source database system
performance.
Oracle GoldenGate 12c supports two forms of log-based
capture:
1.
Classic capture.
2.
Integrated capture.
Migration from classic capture to integrated capture is
recommended. Refer to chapter 10 to learn more about
integrated capture.
Supported Operating Systems
On every conceivable platform from a PC to a mainframe,
Oracle GoldenGate offers a foundation for comprehensive
integration environments. Oracle GoldenGate 11g and higher
supports all of the operating systems, as seen in Table 1.2.
