Question: I want to disable a
scheduled SQL statement that many be part of an Oracle job.
How do I find all scheduled job and how do I disable
an Oracle job?
Answer: A scheduled task consists of
SQL, DML or DDL statements and can be scheduled using these
tools:
- The Windows "at command:
schedule with at command - The
UNIX/LINUX crontab:
schedule with crontab - Oracle's
dbms_scheduler utility:
dbms_scheduler To
disable a job that has been scheduled within Oracle
(dbms_scheduler), you first need to identify the job_name
and them pass this job_name to the dbms_scheduler.disable
command:
select
job_name,
owner,
enabled
from
dba_scheduler_jobs;
execute
dbms_scheduler.disable('owner.job')
dbms_scheduler.disable (job_name => 'xxxx'); end; /
For details on disabling jobs scheduled in Windows, see
the Windows help files and for a cron, see the "crontab -e"
command. The crontab -e command will edit the cron and
you can disable the shell script that contains the Oracle
job directives.
