Question: I need to understand the purpose of Oracle scripts and see when Oracle scripts are an alternative to the OEM screens for monitoring Oracle performance.  Can you please explain how Oracle scripts work?

 Oracle scripts are used to interface with the Oracle data dictionary to allow for fast answers to complex questions.  Oracle scripts are especially important for troubleshooting, and Oracle scripts are indispensible for Oracle tuning.  When compared to OEM, Oracle scripts are far more flexible and robust than the pre-written OEM screens.
