Oracle dba_hist Data Dictionary Views

dba_hist Data Dictionary Views

Oracle10g provides the following dba_hist data dictionary views to access AWR data:

The dba_hist views below are grouped by the types of performance data available through them. The Oracle10g AWR repository collects the history for the following types of database statistics:

§       Database wait events.

§       Metric statistics.

§       Time model statistics.

§       System statistics.

§       Operating system statistics.

§       SQL statistics.

§       Segment statistics.

§       Datafile I/O statistics.

The usage of the types of statistics in the time-series tuning approach was introduced earlier in this book, and it is now time to take a deeper look.  The following is a basic overview of parent dba_hist views containing the corresponding statistic history and basic reports, which retrieve statistic history for a particular AWR snapshot interval.

 

The following section presents more details about the concrete statistics provided by particular dba_hist views.
