Audit trail=db_extended tips

Question: I need to turn on the detailed Oracle auditing for individual SQL statements?

Answer: The following SQL will extract all user ID, system grants, user grants and role grants.

SQL> show user

USER is "SYS"

SQL> ALTER SYSTEM SET audit_trail=DB_EXTENDED SCOPE=SPFILE;

System altered.

SQL> show parameter audit_trail;

NAME TYPE VALUE

------------------------------------ ----------- ---------

audit_trail string NONE

Need to restart!

SQL> shutdown immediate;

Database closed.

Database dismounted.

ORACLE instance shut down.

SQL> exit

SQL> show parameter audit_trail;

NAME TYPE VALUE

------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------

audit_trail string DB_EXTENDED

Now the auditor can select the actual SQL ran by the user.

SQL> truncate table sys.aud$;

audit select on pubs.stores;

select * from pubs.stores where rownum < 5;

SELECT * FROM dba_audit_trail;

select * from sys.aud$;

noaudit all;
