Question: What do
I do to recover a single table using RMAN? I want to
restore only one table and I do not want a complete
recovery. How do I recover a singe table with RMAN.
Answer: You cannot recover a
single table using RMAN directly, but you need to restore
into a TEST database and then use export (data pump expdp)
to extract the single table. After a RMAN restore into
a TEST database you can also create a database link and copy
the table into the target database using CTAS.
See here,
how to restore a tablespace using RMAN.
With RMAN you can individually backup tablespaces, or you
can backup individual datafiles. If the table reside
by itself in a tablespace then you can restore the table
using RMAN.
