Question: What do
I do to manually create a pdb from the command line? I
know that Oracle recommends using DBCA to create a pdb, but
I need to do a manual create of a pdb. I am getting
the ORA-01917 error when creating a pdb:
sys@cdb1>CREATE PLUGGABLE DATABASE mypdb_01 ADMIN USER
pdbadmin IDENTIFIED BY oracle FILE_NAME_CONVERT=('/disk1/oradata/cdb1/pdbseed/','/disk1/oradata/cdb1/mypdb_01/');
ERROR at
line 1:
ORA 00604:error occurred at
recursive SQl level 1
ORA 01917:user or role 'PDB_DBA'
does not exist
Answer: Note: Oracle
recommends using DBCA to create a cdb and a pdb. The
ORA-01917 is a common error addressed by MOSC
ORA-01917: User Or Role 'PDB_DBA' Does Not Exist" while
creating container enabled (cdb) database manually (MOSC Doc
ID 1967358.1)
The most common reason for the ORA-01917 error is a bad
cdb definition. Follow these important directions to
manually create a cdb.
