QUESTION:  I would like to make an application in ORACLE SQL FORMS 6i and i would like to do this:

I have a button and when i press on it i would like to insert something in my database.

( e.g. INSERT INTO my_database (ID,Name) VALUES (1,'MyName'); )

ANSWER:

1. Create a button item on a data block.

2. Launch the Object Navigator (press the F3 key)

3. Locate Button Item. Open its Property Palette. Make sure the button is assigned to a canvas.

4. Relaunch the Object Navigator and expand the button node displaying the Trigger node.

5. Select the triggers node and press the Create tool. This will launch a dialog box. Select the When-Button-Pressed trigger.

6. Enter you Insert statement into the PL/SQL editor when it is displayed.
