Oracle Solid-State Disk RAM SAN

Oracle Database Tips by Donald Burleson

High-speed solid-state disk (SSD) is revolutionizing Oracle databases with the first solid-state Oracle databases.

The RamSan-400 by Texas Memory Systems is the industry's first solid state disk with 4-gigabit Fibre Channel interfaces and is currently the only storage device that can sustain 3 gigabytes/second of random data transfers or a half-million random I/Os per second.

Oracle expert, Don Burleson, expects this new solid state disk to be the "fastest high-speed I/O device for Oracle databases, anywhere on the planet."
