Question: How do I use the
12c RMAN noopen
option?
Answer: The
RMAN noopen is a new 12c argument in the RMAN
duplicate database command. Without the
noopen clause an RMAN duplicate database is opened in
resetlogs mode.
The noopen clause is useful in
cases where you want to modify the newly-duplicated (cloned)
instance before starting the instance. This might
include changing initialization parameters, or other
characteristics of the cloned database.
See these related notes on
RMAN cloning.
