dba_logstdby_progress tips

Oracle Database Tips by Donald Burleson

Another view, dba_logstdby_progress, shows the overall progress of the log apply service on the standby site. See the script log_progress.sql from code depot that uses dba_logstdby_progress. This script is a query on dba_logstdby_progress view and shows the received, read, and applied SCN by the standby database.

The following is a sample output from dba_logstdby_progress SQL script:

newest_scn shows the most recent SCN available on the standby site. When all the changes from the primary site have been applied on the standby site, the value of applied_scn and newest_scn will be equal.
