Oracle Validated Configurations

Oracle Tips by Burleson Consulting

The Oracle Validated Configurations listing is a list of pre-tested configurations, intended to reduce risk among Oracle customers who have a bewildering array of choices among Linux distros, server and network products.

Related to the OCE, (Oracle Certification Environment), Oracle Validated Configurations provide a pre-validated configuration that can save time by reducing stack testing, a major issue with open source operative systems such as Linux.

The Oracle Validated Configurations FAQ has indicated that the Oracle Validated Configurations list is free: "This is simply best practices documentation based on extensive stack testing. You do not need to pay to get access to this information."

As of June 2006, Oracle has six pre-tested Oracle Validated Configurations :
