Question: What is the default
ORACLE_HOME location on Windows and UNIX/Linux? How do I find the
default ORACLE_HOME location?

In Windows, you can find the default ORACLE_HOME with
start --> run --> regedit (enter) -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - SOFTWARE - ORACLE
In UNIX and Linux, you can find the default $ORACLE_HOME
directory location in the /etc/passwd file.
The following command will display the ORACLE_HOME directory

root> cat /etc/passwd|grep -i ora
