Question:

Why do I get an access violation in ora805.dll error message when connecting Oracle forms 6i to my Oracle 9i database?

This question posed on 28 October 2005

Answer:

You do not explain the error enough to correctly answer your question.

It could be that the FORMS_60 path is too large. Also some versions of Forms6i are not certified to run against a 9.2 database. If you are using an older version of Forms6i you may need to apply a patch.

Likewise you can get this error running Forms6i on WinXP. In that case you need to move to Win2K. There are many things that can cause the access violation to this DDL, including the DDL may not exist.

Hopefully this gives you some ideas.
