Oracle10g Grid Computing
with RAC
Chapter 6 - Install,
Configure and Database Creation
Conclusion
In this chapter, many installation steps and
configuration issues have been discussed. Oracle RAC is supported on
many diverse platforms and operating systems. We have attempted to
highlight the overall steps in creating a cluster, installing
cluster software, creating necessary storage volumes, and preparing
the system environment for creating the RAC database.
As Oracle releases new versions, and new
certified vender combinations are announced, configuration and
installation details may change. Current installation and
configuration details are available at Oracle.
The system administrator generally handles
storage configuration and operating environment preparation. If the
SA and DBA team plan and act as a cohesive team, superior results
can be achieved in a shorter amount of time.
