Then
the OUI displays the Prerequisite Check page. The Prerequisite Check
page verifies the operating system kernel parameters or attributes
and validates the ORACLE_BASE location etc.

Next, Select the Database Configuration
desired. Optionally, you can skip the creation of the starter
database, as we have shown below in Fig. 6.18. We wanted to install
only the software and not build a starter database at this time,
therefore we selected, ‘do not create a starter database’ option.

Now you can proceed to continue installation.
You would see the installation progress bar.
However, if we select the starter database
option, you will go through more selection pages. In the Database
Configuration Options page, enter a global database name. A global
database name is a name that includes the database name and database
domain, such as db.us.acme.com. SID names automatically populate.
