Tips for your Oracle Grid Control Server
Oracle Tips by Burleson Consulting |
Question: Our DBA group has a debate going
on about whether or not Oracle Grid Control should be placed in the
Oracle RAC environment, or should it be on its own standalone server
exclusive of the RAC. My belief is that it should be placed in
its' own separate environment...
Answer: Yes, it's always a good idea to have
the grid control on a small, dedicated server so that you will always have an
independent hardware environment from which to monitor your RAC nodes (servers).
In an Oracle Gris environment, a single server blade can be dedicated for this
task.
