Question: How do I take a table and export it into a csv test file? I have several tables in several databases (SQL, Oracle) that I need to convert into csv files. Is there an easy utility to export table data into csv format?

Answer: There are several ways to export a table into a csv format:

1 - SQL Developer: Oracle SQL Developer can quickly export to a csv file.

2 - Vanilla SQL: You can write standard SQL to export a comma-delimited flat file from SQL*Plus using the spool command:

set heading off

spool myfile.csv

select
col1|','||col2 from my_tables;

set colsep ','

select * from my_table;

spool off;

3 - PL/SQL: This approach has the benefit of allowing you to copy all Oracle tables in a schema into csv spreadsheet files.
