Question: Is there a way to find out how
much storage is backed up completed in any timeframe by RMAN?
Answer: The RMAN catalog tables (rc_backupset_summary
and rc_backup_set) provide metadata details on
the amount of storage consumed by an RMAN backup.
You can also query the v$session_longops view to see the
amount of size while an RMAN backup is running.
alter session set nls_date_format='dd.mm.yyyy
hh24:mi:ss';
select *
from
(select
sid,
serial#,
opname,
totalwork,
sofar,
round((sofar*100)/decode(totalwork,0,1,totalwork)) pct,
last_update_time
from
v$session_longops
order by
pct)
where rownum<21;
