  Harry Conway is an experienced Systems Analyst and Project Manager with more than 25 years of full-time Information Technology experience.  Experienced in both Oracle and IDMS, Harry is a seasoned manager with that rare combination of exceptional technical and management skills.

As a veteran US Marine Sergeant and a former Director of Database Development, Harry has outstanding leaderships and management skills with over a decade of experience managing multi-million dollar database projects.

Harry is also author of the book “Oracle Tuning Power Scripts” by Rampant TechPress.

When not performing management duties, Harry specializes in Oracle database design and modeling, data migrations, and PL/SQL code development.

As a trained killer, Harry possesses those special skills required by BC to deal with obstinate consultants and end-users.

· Project Manager; Responsible for managing team of senior Oracle DBAs, plus performing data Modeling, systems and functional analysis and design.

Schlukbier Consulting, Raleigh, NC
May 2001 – Feb 2002

· Independent Database Consultant; Data Modeling, Database Administration and Stored Procedure development for a website utilizing Oracle 8i context searching. This project involved filtering, parsing and database insertion of xml based wire feeds (Comtex) into a web publishing database. This database facilitated full online retrieval of news articles based on ad-hoc contextual keyword(s)/strings.
 

Quokka Sports (formerly TotalSports), Raleigh, NC
May 1998 – April 2001  

· Director Database Development; 1998-2001. Under my guidance and supervision my team was responsible for database administration and architecture of several Oracle8i database instances on Sun Solaris Unix in a 24 x 7 environment. We were also responsible for designing and developing applications to manage the databases through Visual Basic 6.0 front-ends and Java server-side back-ends. We supported numerous schemas under strict version control, as well as several corporate applications including a web-publishing database for over a hundred autonomous and syndicated web sites. A major accomplishment was the development of a real-time “datacast” system for all Major League Baseball games. This system and database was later purchased by MLB. I acted as a liaison with MLB and third-party implementation teams. During the 2000-2001 basketball season, I was the project manager for www.finalfour.net web site, the officially sponsored site of the NCAA. This project involved almost everyone in the company; utilizing MS project and an employee time reporting system developed by my team to manage the hundreds of tasks involved.

May 1997 – April 1998  

· Database Administrator. 1997 – 1998. It was my responsibility for the data modeling and database administration of Oracle 7.3 on a Windows/NT environment in support of the development of a Clinical Patient Records application package. My key responsibility was for the modeling of a common data model for integration with a partnering software package.


Agway Inc., Syracuse, New York
January 1988 – May 1997 

· Database Administrator. 1995 – 1997. I was responsible for the data architecture and database administration of client/server applications for Agway Agriculture & Retail Sales. My primary responsibility was for a decision support Data Warehouse. My primarily roles were data modeling, database tuning, incremental data feeds and user support.

· Re-Engineering Specialist. 1994 - 1995. I performed as both a Business Specialist and Systems Consultant on enterprise wide business process re-engineering project. The first phase of this project was business process re-design of retail supply chain and development of requirements for software package evaluation and selection.

· Senior Systems Analyst/Project Leader. 1990 - 1994. Provided design and development leadership on various Agway systems projects; Fertilizer Blending, Net Landed Cost Analysis, Desktop Publishing of a Product Catalog and Data Warehousing of Retail Store Sales Performance utilizing a proprietary client server software package.

· Systems Analyst. 1988 - 1990. I implemented a Purchasing and Accounts Payable system by designing major modifications to the Cullinet Manufacturing System and integration with existing legacy systems. I also designed a Freight Estimation System for inbound shipments into distribution centers.

July 1982 - Dec. 1987 

· Project Leader. 1987 - 1988 I served as project leader for evaluating and acquiring a Plant Maintenance System for five plants to run on autonomous IBM System 36's.

· Analyst/Programmer. 1982 - 1987. I developed a mainframe IDMS system for issuing spare parts for plant maintenance, utilizing modules from the Cullinet Manufacturing System.
