· Director Database Development;
1998-2001. Under my guidance and supervision my team was responsible
for database administration and architecture of several Oracle8i
database instances on Sun Solaris Unix in a 24 x 7 environment. We were
also responsible for designing and developing applications to manage the
databases through Visual Basic 6.0 front-ends and Java server-side
back-ends. We supported numerous schemas under strict version control,
as well as several corporate applications including a web-publishing
database for over a hundred autonomous and syndicated web sites. A major
accomplishment was the development of a real-time datacast system for
all Major League Baseball games. This system and database was later
purchased by MLB. I acted as a liaison with MLB and third-party
implementation teams. During the 2000-2001 basketball season, I was the
project manager for www.finalfour.net web site, the officially sponsored
site of the NCAA. This project involved almost everyone in the company;
utilizing MS project and an employee time reporting system developed by
my team to manage the hundreds of tasks involved.
