BIOGRAPHY
|
Andrew Kerber is an experienced Oracle RAC DBA consultant and a graduate of West Point with a BS in Computer Science and a decade of progressive DBA experience. In addition to his bachelor's of science degree in Computer Science from the prestigious United States Military Academy at West Point, Andy is Oracle Certified and has more than 10 years of progressive DBA experience working with mission-critical systems. Beyond the realm of Oracle database administration, Andy has broad technical skills ranging from PL/SQL administration and tuning to the installation and troubleshooting of complex multi-instance cluster databases. As a veteran of numerous Oracle RAC implementations Andy is well versed in the hands-on management of RAC maintenance, upgrades and migration. Andrew has dedicated his life to Oracle technology and spends a great deal of his time exploring new Oracle features and improving his expert skills. Andrew is happily married with two children and enjoys spending his Friday nights watching his son's high school football games. |

UMB Bank, Kansas City, MO. Responsible for general DBA duties on 30+ Oracle instances across10 servers on Solaris 32 and 64 bit and IBM AIX 32 and 64 bit.
Planned and implemented Oracle 10g RAC on 2 node cluster for Fed Wire Transfers. Planned and implemented multiple non-RAC instances. Supported 5 Oracle 9i RAC instances, and multiple other non-RAC 9i instances.

Senior Oracle DBA
· Started as Oracle DBA II in 2000, promoted to Senior Oracle DBA in 2004.
· Worked in 24 x 7 pager rotation.
· OCA certification, 2005.
· Tuned Oracle database parameters for performance.
· Wrote SQL programs.
· Used Erwin to create entity relationship diagrams for complex data models.
· Optimized existing SQL Programs for performance.
· Assisted developers in optimizing SQL code for performance.
· Responsible for general maintenance of the database, including adding storage as necessary, troubleshooting problems, backup and recovery.
