UNIX and Linux technology. A respected instructor and brilliant author,
Adam is a Vice President at the prestigious Association for Information
Management Institute in Omaha, Nebraska. Expert in Intel hardware and UNIX
internals, Adam possesses the rare combination of management and technical

EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE:
Vice President, AIM Institute, Omaha, Nebraska
October 1997 – Present. My duties at AIM include the
maintenance of our internal network, consisting of 50 Windows client
workstations and 13 Windows, Linux and Solaris servers. I also manage our
web server installations at two co location facilities in the Omaha metro
area. My primary responsibilities are the security, monitoring, capacity
planning, upgrades and maintenance of our computer and network
infrastructure. I am also the main contact for support of 6 Windows-based
computer labs in place around Omaha, and I have been the main instructor in
our Cisco Regional Networking Academy since 1997, having taught over 100
high school and college instructors the Cisco Certified Networking Associate
(CCNA) curriculum.
Systems Administrator, EPS Technologies Jefferson,
South Dakota
June 1994 – October 1997. I held the positions of
service department supervisor, motherboard and memory tester, systems
administrator, web master and network administrator over the course of my
employment with EPS. I was responsible for establishing their initial web
presence in 1997 and for coordinating the move of the company to Omaha in
1997. I was responsible for managing approximately 100 client workstations,
10 Windows NT4 servers and 2 Linux servers.
PERSONAL BACKGROUND:
Adam has been the vice-president of the Omaha Linux
User's Group (OLUG) since 2000 and is an active participant in the
open-source community. He has given seminars and been the featured guest
speaker at events held at Metropolitan Community College, the Association of
Information Technology Professionals, the yearly Infotec conference, and the
Nebraska chapter of the International Webmasters Association. He continues
to teach the CCNA curriculum to high school and college teachers, and also
teaches a two-week Linux certification course aimed at the SAIR Linux
Certified Administrator certification.
