New Amazon SIP helps you search Oracle Books

Don Burleson

Amazon, a leader in full-text book searching, introduced a ?search inside the book? feature back in 2004.  Now, Amazon has introduced ?Statistically Improbable Phrases? (SIP), a great tool for finding Oracle information:

For example, viewing the Oracle 10g Grid book by (Mike Ault and Madhu Tumma), we now see a SIP section:

Statistically Improbable Phrases (SIPs): (learn more)
global cache null, vendor clusterware, global cache current blocks, portable clusterware, recovering instance, global cache convert, server parameter file, srvctl add, local buffer cache, shared storage unit, global cache service processes, single instance database, shared raw device, master free list, parallel execution servers, dictionary cache locks, global lock async, tablespace transport, srvctl start, undo tablespace, connect time failover, acquisition interrupt, raw logical volumes, cache transfer, smallfile tablespace

Clicking on any of these hyperlinks locate the phrase within the book, and best of all, other books that contain the phrase.  For example, here we click on the link for ?master free list? and we see a list of books that contain this information:

"master free list" appears in these books:
