Oracle OpenWorld 2006 books 65,000 rooms

Oracle Openworld has been steady growing, from modest attendance in the 1990’s, to one of the world’s largest database conferences.  Oracle OpenWorld is a do-not-miss conference which attracts some of the world's top Oracle speakers, and entertainment by Elton John.

This article notes that 65,000 rooms have been booked in San Francisco for Oracle Openworld 2006:

“It's hard to top Redwood City database giant Oracle Corp., which is promising to bring 41,000 people and 500 temporary jobs and inject $50 million into the local economy during Oracle OpenWorld 2006 at the Moscone Center Oct. 22-26.

Oracle Chief Executive Officer Larry Ellison is a keynote speaker, along with the leaders of Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Cisco Systems and Sun Microsystems.

Oracle-ites have already reserved virtually every hotel room in San Francisco during the week - 65,000 hotel stays . . .

"This is our big show of the year, and we're expecting 10,000 more people than 2005,"”
