Web guru Tim Bray, Director of Web Technologies
at Sun/Oracle, has left Oracle to pursue work with the Android OS at
Google.
Tim’s job title at Google will be “Developer
Advocate”.
Tim notes the reasons for his switch to Google, where he will be
telecommuting to Vancouver. He does not go into his reason for
leaving Oracle, but being one of the top experts in his field, you
can bet that he was heavily courted by many vendors:
“I’d had an offer to stay with Oracle which I decided to
decline; I’ll maybe tell the story when I can think about it
without getting that weird spiking-blood-pressure sensation in
my eyeballs.”
