As the only surviving creator of relational
database management (Ted Codd, the co-creator,
died in 2003), Chris Date is required-reading at almost every
university America, and his principles of database design set the
standard for data modeling. (Trivia note: Codd said that
they created the term “normalizing relations” because Nixon was
“normalizing relations” with China at the time).
The HOTSOS Symposium is an
up-and-coming Oracle conference, attracting senior Oracle
professionals who are interested in Oracle performance Tuning
internals.
