With real sales being carefully hidden by
publishers, we have to guess at the actual sales of computer books,
but a few Google searches reveals press releases about the
bestselling computer books and Oracle database books:
– Upgrading and repairing PC’s – Que publishing –
claims an astonishing 2,000,000 copies sold:
Scott Mueller, the
book is the best-selling PC hardware book of all time, with more
than two million copies sold.
– One of the world’s most prolific computer authors with
over 90 books in-print and more than 3 million copies sold.
Flannigan – Author
of “Java In A Nutshell” by O’Reilly, the publisher claims sales of
more than 700,000 copies.
McClure - Claims that his hacking book has sold more
than a half-million copies:
In 1999, he took
the lead in authoring Hacking Exposed: Network Security Secrets &
Solutions, the best-selling computer-security book ever, with over
500,000 copies sold to date.
- In its sixth edition, the landmark book Introduction to
Database Systems is said to have sold more than 300,000 copies
over the past decade.
