Shortage of Oracle DBA talent drives up salaries

December 12, 2005

With the average salary of an experienced Oracle DBA averaging $86,000 per year and OCP average salaries over $75,000 per year, many companies are luring Oracle DBA talent with salary incentives and bonuses.

Experienced Oracle consultants are seeing the biggest salary increases in 2005.  Burleson Consulting has over a dozen openings and offers at-home work starting at $100,000 and up to $200,000 per year for senior DBA consultants, plus generous benefits such as a yearly DBA cruise.

Some Oracle consulting companies (TUSC) are offering $1,000.00 referral bonuses for anyone who refers an experienced Oracle DBA with specialized skills in RAC, Business Intelligence or Oracle Applications DBA skills.

While the low-end of beginner Oracle DBA salaries remain low, salaries are increasing rapidly for Oracle DBA's with experience in managing mission-critical systems.
