Another interesting Openworld London presentation is by Oracle's
Nick Whitehead, entitled
"Gaining Value from Business Intelligence: Integrating the Customer
Data Hub with Your Data Warehouse".
Customer Data Hub
is a new Oracle product
announced
earlier this year that serves as a central processing and storage
point for all of an organisation's customer data, both from the
e-Business Suite, and from other OLTP applications.

Customer Data Hub is quite an interesting product, as
it's clearly from the Oracle Apps / Oracle Application Server product
family, and yet it's got an obvious interest for business intelligence
& data warehousing projects. The presentation makes a point of looking
at how Customer Data Hub fits in with a data warehousing architecture,
and product's role seems to be as a pre-cleansed and integrated source
of customer data, rather than as a kind of substitute for a warehouse
customer dimension.
The presentation's on today (Tuesday) which luckily is
the day I'm up at Openworld, so I'll try and go along and report back
anything interesting. More details can be found on the
presentation powerpoint slides, and on
OTN.
