Review of Oracle Flexible Architecture (OFA) standards:
· Environmental variables ($ORACLE_HOME, $DBA) · File naming (/u01/app/oracle/$ORACLE_SID)

· Init.ora parameters · SQL optimizer parameters (optimizer_mode) · Sqlnet.ora parameters · Listener.ora parameters

Reviewing scheduled jobs: - Ensure that the following exist:
· Statspack.snap (hourly)
· Backup (verify integrity)
· File cleanup (remove old trace files, dumps, archived redo’s)
· Dump alerts (send e-mail when dumps occur)
· Alert log message e-mail alerts
· Collection of CBO stats with dbms_stats – Verify proper parameters
Performance review:
· Install STATSPACK (if not already)
· SPreport for detailed analysis
