Steve Karam expert systems, decision support systems and AI experience

Oracle Tips by Burleson Consulting

When choosing an Oracle consultant for the implementation of complex expert systems, decision support systems or applied artificial intelligence using Oracle, it's critical to choose a consultant with a proven record of success.

Steve Karam corporate experience in expert systems and DSS

I have extensive experience in the application of real-world systems using Oracle

  • Statspack Analyzer - Building a rule based decision support system for DBAs.  This software is capable of analyzing a large set of raw data from AWR or Statspack reports and making intelligent recommendations to the user based on information from various sections of the report.  Cross-checking and whole system summarization is key to ensure false positives are minimized and the user gets the most reliable possible data.

  • Ion for Oracle ? Trending and analysis tool for Oracle, allowing a DBA to view trend information, forecast performance, and view metrics by various summarizations such as averages by hour of day or day of week.  Custom scripts make use of powerful analytic queries to show various metrics and system statistics over time in various summary forms.
  • OWB Experience ? Steve Karam has worked with several universities in the understanding of data migration for ETL processes and warehouse design.  This work includes both MOLAP and ROLAP systems with emphasis on building proper fact/dimension models to allow optimal data retrieval.  Additionally, mentoring regarding performance tuning played a large factor, specifically in the application of materialized views and partitioning.  Lastly, data loading methods for optimal performance during loading periods was discussed, with various methods utilized to pull data from a variety of sources in the fastest way possible.
  • Experience with on-demand data, Data on Tap ? Steve Karam has worked with several organizations employing webservices and even cloud architectures in order to provide rich data sets from a variety of platforms to aid in the decision making process of application software.  With analysis on base data, Steve made it possible for multiple data sources to be combined quickly and efficiently to meet the needs of any analytic tool.
